Research and Creative Scholarship (ORCS)

The Office of Research and Creative Scholarship (ORCS) serves the Emerson community by assisting researchers, scholars, and artists in finding financial support for their endeavors.

Emerson College is committed to creating a campus environment that supports and promotes superior research, premier creative activities, and innovative scholarly pursuits. The mission of the Office of Research and Creative Scholarship (ORCS) is to serve the Emerson community by providing information, personal assistance, services, and programs to those who seek financial support for scholarly endeavors.

The Office will also provide college-wide leadership in the development of research and sponsored program activities, and work closely with faculty, staff and senior administrators in shaping the effort to build a more robust program of grants and sponsored research.

Pre-Approval Form

All external grant submissions must first submit a pre-approval form. This form should be approved by the appropriate parties at least five (5) days before applying for an external grant. This is meant to ensure that all relevant administrative leaders are aware and approve of your intent to submit a grant proposal. Please note, if this form is not completed, you may not be permitted to submit your proposal.

Some internal grants may also have their own pre-approval forms. Please see the individual internal grants for more information.
