Our Mission Statement

The Office of Community Standards upholds the Code of Community Standards and all Emerson policies to ensure that Emerson is a safe and welcoming community to learn, live, and work. Guided by our commitment to education and functioning within an educational framework, the Office of Community Standards focuses on addressing harm, facilitating reflection, and protecting student rights through fair and transparent processes. The Office of Community Standards is committed to providing opportunities for learning, growth, reflection, and collaborative resolutions that best serve the Emerson community. The Office of Community Standards is dedicated to balancing the needs of individual students and the greater campus community by promoting consistent community standards and expectations, and addressing concerns brought forward by members of our community. We support all students through individualized resolutions and opportunities for growth so that all students may develop into engaged, ethical citizens.

Code of Community Standards

The Code of Community Standards serves to protect the rights of Emerson College community members and address potential concerns related to the collective values housed within it.

Student Conduct Process

The Student Conduct Process is an educational process seeking to create a safe learning, living, and working community where teaching, scholarship, and creative work thrives at the highest level. It includes both formal and informal resolution options.
