Honors Lecture
Honors Lecture with Peniel Joseph, Professor of History and Founding Director of the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy at Tufts University

This Honors lecture continued the conversation and activism about #BlackLivesMatter by putting the events in Ferguson and Staten Island (to name two) in intellectual context. Dr. Peniel Joseph discussed how the Civil Rights/Black Power Movement’s legacies of promoting racial and economic justice speak to the Age of Ferguson, Obama, and #BlackLivesMatter.

Dr. Joseph is a frequent observer on issues of race, democracy, and civil rights whose commentary has been featured on National Public Radio, The Colbert Report, PBS, and MSNBC.
