  • Web Series Screening: The Halls

    6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
    Paramount Center
    Bright Family Screening Room
    Ticketed Event

The Boston Public Health Commission's Division of Violence Prevention, Emerson's eLEEP program and Beyond Measure Productions team up to bring The Halls to the big screen.

The Halls tells the stories of three young men in Boston and their struggles sifting through relationships, trauma, masculinity, and their own identities. Tension starts building in their worlds when rumors swirl around the school about an alleged rape of a student. Through storytelling the web series inspires viewers to think about the messages young men and young women are taught about how to act in relationships and to challenge themselves to engage in positive alternatives.

The screening of the entire web series will be followed by a Director's panel featuring one of the directors, actors, and program staff.

    8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
    Tufte Performance and Production Center
    Semel Theater, 3rd Floor
$8 Emerson Community, $12 General Audience

    By María Irene Fornés
    Directed by Maureen Shea

Written in 1977, Fefu and Her Friends focuses on the rich internal lives of eight women who spend some time together over a series of several days, entertaining themselves in idle talk, exchanging gossip and views on life, their life and other's lives, care-free gallivanting, and amateur concerts, dances and lectures. Eating, drinking -- drinking especially -- and lots and lots of coffee. The women are diverse in nature but all bound together by their friendship and their "sisterhood." Love is in the air: the kind of love that only women can have for each other.
