Karen English began her career teaching college history courses, then moved into publishing when she was drafted to work on the multivolume book series The Vietnam Experience. She went on to edit other history and travel-related continuity book series, as well as subscription-based business and consumer newsletters and direct marketing collateral.
Since the early 1990s, she has been editing magazines and associated content, first at The Pohly Company, a leading marketing and custom content company where she served as associate editorial director, and currently on a freelance basis. She has worked on award-winning custom publications for several global companies and associations, including Continental Airlines, Western Union, UAW-Chrysler, Fidelity Investments, the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Rice University, Schlumberger, Medtronic, and Sotheby's, among others.
