Scott is a native of Brooklyn, New York. In his graduate work at UCLA, he studied both Film and Television Production and Film and Television Critical Studies. His articles have appeared in Quarterly Review of Film and Video, Questions of Third Cinema, Third World Affairs, and the Journal of Cinema and Television. His MFA thesis film, The Right Choice, won a Silver Apple at the National Educational Film and Video Festival and appeared in 13 film festivals overall. Scott has served on the Emerson LA faculty since January 2001. He currently teaches the Media Arts seminars Film and Television in the Age of Anxiety and Media of Consumption: From Totally Cool to Totally Wired.
