Andrew Cassidy

Andrew Cassidy brings over 17 years of expertise in digital marketing, communications, and crisis management to the Digital Communication Leadership program. He currently serves as the senior director of digital strategy and engagement for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), where he leads the agency’s digital initiatives, manages high-stakes crisis communication strategies, and hosts the award-winning podcast Spilling the T.
Before joining the MBTA, Cassidy held leadership roles in higher education, including director of outreach at Emerson’s School of Communication, and director of social media at Miami Dade College, the largest and most diverse higher education institution in the U.S. His extensive background includes guiding organizations through complex crisis scenarios, leveraging strategic communication to maintain trust and transparency.
In addition to his work in public service and education, Cassidy is the president and founder of Cassidy Consulting, a Boston-based marketing, PR, and communications firm. Using experience garnered from across his distinct career, Andrew has helped catapult brands and engage whole new elements of their communities. Andrew’s insights have been featured in BBC World News, USA Today, and The Boston Globe, highlighting his impact on public communication and digital engagement.
