Becca Finney Headshot

Rebecca Finney is a devised physical theater maker. As a teacher, she creates collaborative conditions in which students can encounter themselves, one another, and the world differently, through embodied performance and shared process.

She is co-founder of the Otherland Theatre Ensemble, an original theater company that centers transformative embodiment of larger-than-life characters to tell stories of outcasts and underdogs moved by universal struggles in outrageous worlds. Finney has served in company and/or leadership roles in rural theater-of-place organizations around the country, including: Bread and Puppet Theater, Dell’Arte International, and Appalshop/Roadside Theater.

When she is not teaching or creating theater, Finney works as a licensed physical therapist assistant at her neighborhood clinic, where she strives to increase patients’ access to their most pain-free and embodied life.
