Bethany Aiken

Bethany Aiken is a Boston-based music director, pianist, composer, and teaching artist who has served as music director for more than 100 productions, including Dear Evan Hansen, Fun Home, Six: Teen Edition, Mean Girls, Something Rotten!, and The SpongeBob Musical (Weston Drama Workshop); Annie, Little Shop of Horrors, Jonah and the Whale, Lucky Stiff, Lobster Girl (plus orchestrations), and Christmas on the Air (plus vocal arrangements), all with Greater Boston Stage Company; Cold War Choir Practice (Trinity Rep); The Prom, Firebringer, and Beauty and the Beast (GBSC Young Company); Murder for Two (Lyric Stage); Songs for a New World (Gloucester Stage); Urinetown and Head Over Heels (Boston Conservatory at Berklee), Hair (Northeastern University); Peter and the Starcatcher (Hub Theatre Company); and four seasons at New Hampshire’s Weathervane Theatre, where she also created original scores for four TYA musicals.

Aiken played keyboard A.R.T’s production of The Black Clown (Norton winner, Outstanding Musical Production), and for the Big Apple Circus and Andrea Bocelli. She has been a staff collaborative pianist at Boston Conservatory since 2013, and is a proud member of MAESTRA and the NOMTI Advanced Writers Lab.
