Cara Moyer-Duncan
Associate Professor, School of Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies
Dr. Cara Moyer-Duncan’s scholarly interests are in the areas of Africana and cultural studies. Her monograph, Projecting Nation: South African Cinemas after 1994, published by Michigan State University Press in 2020, received an Honorable Mention for the First Book Award from the African Literature Association.
She is the author of several peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and book and film reviews, including work published in the Journal of African Cinemas, Critical Interventions: Journal of African Art History and Visual Culture, Africa is a Country, and African Studies Review. She was a featured speaker for the Africa Section of the Library of Congress and the African Literature Association Speaker Series.
Dr. Moyer-Duncan serves as assistant director of the Emerson Prison Initiative, and on the Editorial Board for the Journal of African Cinemas.
