Carol Parker

Carol McCrehan Parker is a lawyer, educator, and academic administrator. From 2015 to 2022, she served as the assistant vice president for faculty affairs at Emerson College. In this role, she managed faculty development, coordinated academic program reviews, and led the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, the Lacerte Family Writing and Academic Resource Center, and the Office of Research and Creative Scholarship. She also served as the NECHE liaison and Title IX deputy coordinator.

Her publications include journal articles on legal rhetoric and legal pedagogy, and the book Tennessee Legal Research, as well as articles on torts and health care reform. She was a member of the founding editorial board of Legal Communication and Rhetoric: Journal of the Association of Legal Writing Directors and served on the board of directors of the Legal Writing Institute. She received the 2011 Thomas F. Blackwell Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Legal Writing, as well as the University of Tennessee’s Carden Award for Outstanding Service to the Institution and Forrest W. Lacey Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Moot Court Board.

Parker previously was a professor of law and associate dean for faculty affairs at the University of Tennessee College of Law, and directed and taught in legal writing programs at Indiana University College of Law, DePaul University College of Law, and University of Illinois College of Law.
