Indira Ganesan

Indira Ganesan is the author of three novels: The Journey, Inheritance, and As Sweet as Honey. Born in Srirangam, India, and raised in St. Louis, MO, and Rockland County, NY, Ganesan first came to Provincetown, MA in 1984, as a Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center.

Ganesan held fellowships from the Mary Ingraham Bunting Institute at Radcliffe College, The McDowell Colony, and The Paden Institute for Writers of Color. She taught fiction and essay writing for over 40 years at various campuses, including the University of California in San Diego and Santa Cruz, Southampton College of LIU, New College of California, The University of Colorado at Boulder, and at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetry at Naropa University.

In 2011, she returned to live year-round on Cape Cod to write, and teaches at Emerson College, The Fine Arts Work Center, and Wellfleet Preservation Hall, and reviews books for Phi Beta Kappa’s thekeyreporter.org.

Ganesan hosts Namaste, a global music program featuring music from the subcontinent and beyond, on WOMR-FM/WFMR-FM on Sunday mornings.
