Jane Pierce Saulnier
Senior Lecturer II and Associate Chair and Course Director for CC100, School of Communication
Jane Pierce Saulnier is the associate chair of CC100 (Fundamentals of Speech Communication) and director of Emerson’s Speech Lab. Her interests and expertise include the basic communication course curriculum and pedagogy, professional communication, internship and experiential learning, and non-profit communication management.
Saulnier is an active member of the National Communication Association, Basic Course Directors, and National Association of Communication Centers. She was a presenter on the panel “Elevating Audience as an Uplifting Force in the Basic Course,” which was one of 15 panels spotlighted in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the NCA learning outcomes at the 2025 convention. She and her fellow panelists also were awarded best panel in their divisions during the 2024 convention for “Reframing Syllabi Creation for Greater Regard for the Basic Course Student,” and “Survival in the Center” at the 2019 convention.
She won the Emerson College Faculty Service Award in 2021 for her work as basic course director during the Covid-19 pandemic.
