Jessica Treadway has published four novels and four short-story collections, including Please Come Back to Me, which received the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction, and I Felt My Life With Both My Hands, which includes a story published in The Best American Short Stories 2025, edited by Celeste Ng.
Her novel Lacy Eye was a Target Book Club pick published in eight countries, and her novel How Will I Know You? was a People Magazine Book of the Week. Her other books are the collections Absent Without Leave, winner of the John C. Zacharis First Book Award, and Infinite Dimensions, and the novels The Gretchen Question and And Give You Peace, named one of Booklist’s Top Ten Debut Novels of the Year.
A former board member of PEN-New England, where she co-chaired the Freedom to Write Committee, Treadway is a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship winner and has been teaching at Emerson since joining the faculty as an affiliated faculty member in 1993.
