Kacie Brown

An actor, director, and educator, Kacie Brown views theater as a vehicle for truth, relatability, and profound human connection. She specializes in Linklater voice pedagogy, intimacy direction, dramaturgy, and devised theater, utilizing her training as a Designated Linklater Teacher Trainee to help student artists ground emotional expression in physical resonance and breath.

Brown’s directorial portfolio includes diverse regional productions across New England, as well as international directing projects. She is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC) and Actors’ Equity Association (AEA). Additionally, she frequently serves as an adjudicator for theater competitions across the country.

Closer to home, she is a resident teaching artist with Boston Lyric Opera, and maintains an artistic residency as a teaching artist at The Umbrella Arts Center, where she champions community-engaged, interdisciplinary performance. She serves on various theater boards of directors, and is a member of the Nominating Committee for the Elliot Norton Awards.

Brown is an active member of ATHE (Association for Theatre in Higher Education) and VASTA (Voice and Speech Trainers Association), with work published in the VASTA Voice newsletter.
