Lauren Hallal

Lauren Hallal is a certified Alexander Technique Teacher by the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT). She developed a course for the juniors in the BFA Acting program at Emerson, where she is an affiliated faculty member. She has taught Alexander Technique at Emerson’s pre-college program, workshops at Northeastern University, Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music, as well as many other locations throughout New England.

Hallal has a private practice in Newton, MA where she teaches people looking for better body use or relief from chronic pain. She also assists at the Alexander Technique Training Center (ATTC) for those training to become certified instructors of the Alexander Technique. At ATTC, Hallal teaches Anatomy for the Alexander Technique Teacher.

Hallal has been a company member of Beau Jest Moving Theater since 1992. She has devised and acted in many plays, directed by Davis Robinson. She has performed at The Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC, and at the Tennessee Williams Theater Festival in Provincetown, MA.
