Lu Ann Reeb

Twice an Emmy Award-winning television executive producer, Lu Ann Reeb is a longtime broadcast journalist and an entrepreneur, who has launched online media companies. Reeb is founder of Boston Media Group, creating innovative digital and traditional media strategies. She also founded Legal Talk Network, LLC, an online media and information network for the legal profession, which was acquired by a California firm in 2012.

Prior to her entrepreneurial ventures, Reeb’s career as a television journalist spanned 20 years as a reporter, producer, news director, and executive producer at CBS Boston. She produced news documentaries and major market television programs, covering the people and events making news, including five U.S. presidents, Nelson Mandela, the world’s first artificial heart implant, a deadly Air Canada plane crash, John Glenn’s second space flight, and the Boston Marathon. Her work as executive producer at CBS Boston was instrumental in securing freedom for Joe Salvati, a Boston man who had been wrongly convicted of murder and served nearly 30 years in prison.

Reeb has received Associated Press awards and community advocacy awards in four television markets. She is a frequent speaker and moderator at media seminars, entrepreneurship conferences, and academia. Reeb previously served as assistant dean in the School of Arts & Interdisciplinary Studies and the School of Communication.

She recently launched a new Journalism and Media Innovation Graduate Program, and led college-wide faculty curricular committees that developed Emerson’s Business of Creative Enterprises major. She was the longtime director of the yearlong Entrepreneurship Program (E3), helping students to develop new business ventures.
