Matan Rubinstein

Associate Professor, School of Film, Television, and Media Arts

Dr. Matan Rubinstein is a composer, improviser, and electronic musician, active through a wide spectrum of contemporary music making. He has composed works for orchestra and chamber groups, for jazz orchestras and combos, as well as projects for dance, film, television, and interactive media.

Originally from Israel, Rubinstein has lived and worked in Brooklyn, NY, and Madison, WI. He is a prolific composer of music that is divergent in practice, medium and method. He is also a frequent collaborator with makers in other disciplines, and frequently makes music for dance and film. Rubinstein is active as a performer and has several recordings to his credit.
