Dr. Melissa Cohen is a professor of finance with over two decades of professional experience in corporate real estate administration and strategy.

Before transitioning to higher education, she built a career in global real estate and lease administration for major corporations like SITEL Worldwide, Family Dollar Stores, and Dollar General.

A recognized finance expert, Dr. Cohen regularly contributes expert commentary to outlets like WalletHub and WKRN News Channel 2 Nashville (ABC Affiliate). She is in the process of completing her Certified Financial Planning (CFP) certification.

In addition to teaching at Emerson College, she serves as a lecturer in the Department of Economics and Finance at Middle Tennessee State University, where she teaches corporate finance courses.
