Richard Chetwynd

Part-Time Faculty

Richard Chetwynd attended the Kasteel Well program as an Emerson undergraduate student in 1986.

He taught briefly at the University of Iowa before taking up an opportunity to teach writing and poetry courses in Poland. Between 1991 and 1992, he taught respectively at the Pedagogical College in Bydgoszcz and Mikolai Copernicus University in Torun. He has also received teaching Fellowships and won several prizes honoring his talents in the area of translation and writing.

Apart from his passion for teaching, he is also a poet who has been active in writing and publishing poems since 1990s. Chetwynd currently resides in Poland with his wife and son. He has taught a range of writing and literature courses at Kasteel Well over many years, most recently Literary Foundations, European Literature, and Travel Writing.
