Shannon Rose McAuliffe

Shannon Rose McAuliffe is an affiliated faculty member in the Entrepreneurship minor (E3) at Emerson College, where she supports students with the fundamentals of entrepreneurialism, venture development, storytelling, pitching, creative problem-solving, and socially conscious business practices.

Before joining Emerson, she ran the Arts Startup Incubator (formerly the $15K Creative Arts Competition) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, supporting student founders through mentorship, workshops, pitch development, and startup funding opportunities.

McAuliffe currently serves as assistant director of programming and advocacy at Boston Singers’ Resource, where her work focuses on equity and advocacy for professional musicians in New England. Her scholarly work explores topics including gender-based violence and trauma in opera, the relationship between artists and audiences, and nonprofit leadership in the arts.

McAuliffe is also co-founder and co-director of Festina, a professional chamber ensemble that specializes in early sacred music and historically informed performance. The ensemble draws artists from renowned organizations throughout the U.S. and Europe, and is known for programming that pairs canonical repertoire with underperformed works and contemporary commissions. Her other performance work includes engagements with Odyssey Opera, Opera Huntsville, the MIT Symphony Orchestra, the Henry Purcell Society of Boston, Tallahassee Bach Parley, and the Hans Zimmer Live and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth concert tours.

In addition to her work at Emerson, McAuliffe has created and taught courses at Boston and Northeastern universities in arts administration, cultural policy and advocacy, storytelling, and community-based arts engagement.
