Thomas McNeely

Thomas H. McNeely has taught at Emerson since 1997, and is the author of Pictures of the Shark (Texas Review Press), recognized as a “must read” collection of stories by the 2023 Massachusetts Book Awards, and Ghost Horse, winner of the Gival Press Novel Award.
Among many awards for his fiction, he has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Wallace Stegner Program, and the MacDowell Colony. His short fiction has appeared in The Atlantic, Ploughshares, and many other magazines and anthologies. He also teaches at the Stanford Online Writing Studio.
