The Bicycle Room is available to the Emerson College community on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is required for use of the room.  All bikes must have their registration sticker affixed to their bike on the crossbar of your bicycle. Registration stickers can be picked up at the ID office at 114 Boylston Street.

Maintenance Closures

  • The Bicycle Room will be closed for maintenance at the end of each semester. During this time, all bikes must be removed.

Overnight Parking & Time Limits

  • Overnight Parking: Only registered residential students are allowed to park bikes overnight in designated spaces.
  • Commuter Bike Racks: Green-painted racks are for daily use only and may not be used for overnight parking.
  • Bikes left in the green-painted racks after midnight will be removed and placed in storage for up to two weeks. After two weeks, unclaimed bikes will be disposed of.
  • Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis upon request.

Bike Storage Guidelines

  • Only non-motorized, pedal-powered bikes are allowed in the Bicycle Room.
  • In compliance with  Community Standards self-propelled scooters, electric bikes and motorized vehicles are prohibited in enclosed bike rooms or anywhere on campus.

Storage Recommendations for Residential Students

  • Due to limited space, residential students are encouraged to store bikes in their rooms during the fall and spring semesters.
  • Summer bike storage is not available.

Responsibilities & Risk

  • Bikes must be securely locked.
  • Bikes should not be locked over other bikes.
  • Emerson College is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged bikes. Use of the Bicycle Room is at your own risk.

  • Residential Student Access: 24/7
  • Daily Access for commuters: 5:00 AM - 12:00 AM, Sunday through Saturday
