Cissy Cheng

Dr. Cissy Cheng is a communication scientist and speech language pathologist who researches how to best promote communication access across healthcare and developmental contexts.
She has studied how augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) can support individuals with complex communication needs, and allow them to better connect with their families and the professionals who serve them.
Dr. Cheng is currently investigating multimodal communication supports for children with developmental disabilities, strategies of how to increase AAC implementation and access, and the various modern ways communication can be improved between providers and patients in acute and intensive care settings.
