Program Overview

This four-week cultural immersion program in Buenos Aires, Argentina is geared toward enriching students’ understanding of global communication. Through service-learning work, cultural activities and interactions with educators and professionals from different cultural backgrounds, students will explore a range of topics related to communication, culture and activism.

Program Eligibility & Admission

  • Recommended for Communication Studies majors, Peace & Social Justice minors, and Global and Post-Colonial Studies minors, but open to all majors and minors.

Course Information

All students will enroll in the following course option:

  • CC 204 - Topics in Communication Studies (4 credits)

Academic Highlights

  • Gain practical experience by working with a community organization whose work is focused on a social justice issue
  • Attend guest lectures to learn more about the development of Argentina
  • Create content that is innovative, employs effective communication strategies and reflects the goals of the community partner

Cultural Highlights

  • Guided tour of El Ateneo Grand Splendid
  • Walking tour of Buenos Aires
  • Excursions to Tigre Delta, San Antonio de Areco, and IguazĂș Falls
  • Cooking class
