Amy Andrea Edmonds Galvam is the Director of Internal Communications, where she is building a strategic, community-centered communications function from the ground up. In this newly created role, she leads efforts to strengthen internal engagement, unify messaging across departments, and foster a more connected campus culture through clear, consistent, and inclusive communication.

She brings more than 15 years of experience in PreK–12 education, having led communications and marketing efforts at two independent schools. At both institutions, she played a key role in rolling out strategic plans and led comprehensive rebranding campaigns. She also oversaw major upgrades to CRM and LMS platforms and, most recently, launched an internal intranet to support faculty and staff communication. She served as editor of a twice-yearly alumni magazine and produced a weekly institutional newsletter with open rates above the industry average.

In addition to her communications work, she has taught undergraduate courses at Union Institute & University and, for over twenty years, has facilitated online Crossroads courses for the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, her alma mater.

She studied Psychology and Peace and Conflict Resolution at California State University, Sacramento, and earned an MA in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Boston College.

A natural bridge-builder, she combines strategic insight with hands-on execution, working across silos to connect people, priorities, and messages in meaningful ways.

In her non-work life, she’s surprisingly good at Zumba, a novice knitter, a passable cook, and a founding member of the Eating Group that Reads.
