Francis is originally from Westport, MA, and holds both a BA and MFA ('08, '12) from Emerson College, where he studied filmmaking. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Francis was hired full-time in IT, serving as an administrator and technician in the college's computer and production labs. After several years, Francis was selected to join the Systems and Networking team. In October of 2013, Francis was promoted to the position of Director of IT Infrastructure, in which he led the team responsible for Emerson's data and voice network, servers, data center, backups, email, file storage, and more. In 2019, he was promoted to be the Director of Information Security and IT Infrastructure, where in addition to his past duties, he also oversees Information Security.
