Kelly Devers-Franklin ’99 is the vice president of marketing and communications. She leads the teams responsible for media and public relations, digital and social media, institutional and internal communications, and marketing and branding. She and her team focus on stakeholder engagement, expanding Emerson’s reach and impact and promoting stories that highlight the community’s exceptional work and strengths of the College.
Throughout her career, Devers-Franklin has served as a trusted advisor to leaders and teams across public and private companies, local governments, and top-tier academic institutions. She has guided corporate and crisis communications, media and public relations, internal and external stakeholder communications, as well as brand, digital, and social media strategies.
Before joining Emerson, Devers-Franklin was a partner in the Boston office of Seven Letter, a communications and bipartisan public affairs firm. She has held senior communications positions at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law; New York University; and the NYC Department of Education. Earlier in her career, she served business, nonprofit, and education clients at Robinson, Lerer, and Montgomery (now FGS Global) and Westhill Partners (now part of FTI Consulting). She began her career in Los Angeles, where she was hired directly out of her Emerson Los Angeles internship to work for prolific film and television producer Lynda Obst.
Devers-Franklin holds a BS in Journalism from Emerson.
