Richard A. (Rich) Madonna Jr. is the vice president of finance and chief financial officer (CFO). He oversees all financial matters, including finance, budgeting and planning, treasury services, risk management, accounts payable, business intelligence, payroll, contracting, and procurement. By managing the modernization of our financial operations, Madonna enhances service quality, develops new revenue streams, and fosters greater cross-unit collaboration and partnerships.

Madonna has been a CFO at higher education institutions for over 15 years. He has a demonstrated history of leading transformative change in senior leadership, having held chief financial roles at Connecticut College, Union Theological Seminary, and the American Museum of Natural History. He started his career in university finance with 10 years at Yale University, where he was a co-founder and advisor of the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute.  

Madonna is a CPA and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Quinnipiac University.
