Emerson College Los Angeles’s 16th Annual Film & Media Festival will take place on Saturday, October 22, with scheduled appearances from legendary TV producer Norman Lear; AMC’s Programming President Joel Stillerman; The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead creator and Executive Producer Robert Kirkman; The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple; Preacher showrunner Sam Catlin; and music video directors Ethan Lader (Bruno Mars, Usher); Ben Fee (Metallica, The Lumineers); and Ben Brewer (Foster the People), among others.
All events are open to the public. Tickets cost $20 and include entrance into our cocktail reception.
The annual festival brings together members of the Hollywood community to celebrate film and television, engage in provocative panel discussions, and offers an abundance of networking opportunities with industry leaders. This year’s festival kicks off at 11:00 a.m. with a screening of the Tribeca award-winning documentary Do Not Resist. Other film screenings include The Trust starring Elijah Wood and Nicolas Cage and the documentary Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You.
Panel discussions at the festival include: Just Try… A Conversation with Zach Kornfeld of BuzzFeed’s Try Guys, Film Festivals: What’s the Secret?, The Hit-Makers of AMC, and Music Video Makers. Throughout the day, festival-goers will be able to enjoy hands-on access to RED cameras as well as vendor tables and concessions.
The festival concludes with a presentation of prizes awarded to Emerson student filmmakers, followed by a reception.
