The Iwasaki Library supports the learning, teaching, research, and creative work of Emerson students, faculty, and staff. The Library is open to anyone with a valid Emerson ID, anyone with a current ID from a Fenway Libraries Online (FLO) institution, and Emerson alumni.

Due to limited space and resources, the Library does not allow general access for non-affiliated users. If you have a research need that requires the use of our collections and you are not affiliated with an FLO institution, contact reference [at] emerson.edu (reference[at]emerson[dot]edu) or 617-824-8674 for information about access. We request that you make arrangements with us in advance, so that we can notify Campus Security. Visitors may be asked to show identification and sign in if requested by a security guard.

Please note that you can also contact your local library to request our materials through interlibrary loan.

Only current Emerson students, staff and faculty, FLO member library patrons, and alumni with a borrowing card can check materials out.

Accessing Library Materials from Off-Campus Locations (Proxy)

Members of the Emerson College community can access web-based Library resources from home or other computers by using the Library's proxy server, if they have a valid Emerson account and Internet access.

After selecting a web-based resource such as Academic Search Premier or Lexis Nexis Academic Universe from the list by title, enter your Emerson account username and password before continuing on to the resource. Do not add @emerson.edu after your username.

If you have a link to an article or citation from one of these resources and wish to access it off campus, prefix the link with: https://proxy.emerson.edu/login?url=

For example, if you have this link: https://www.domain.com/direct.asp?an=123456789&db=aph

Use the following to gain access to it when you are off campus: https://proxy.emerson.edu/login?url=https://www.domain.com/direct.asp?an=123456789&db=aph

For assistance with your Emerson account, contact the Information Technology Help Desk at 617-824-8080 or visit them at 120 Boylston Street. Remember to bring your Emerson ID card.

If you encounter any problems, please contact the Library Reference Department: 617-824-8674, reference [at] emerson.edu (reference[at]emerson[dot]edu), or chat.

Due to content and licensing restrictions, remote access to Library databases is available only to currently enrolled Emerson students, faculty, and staff.
