Learn how to develop an international program. Leading an education abroad program can be enriching for you and the students alike. Faculty and staff of Emerson College proposing a new education abroad or global engagement program (credit or non-credit bearing) are required to submit an initial program proposal for review to the Office of Internationalization and Equity (IE).
The approval process is modeled on the recommendations of NAFSA: Association of International Educators, the premier international organization in education abroad. The following guidelines, once successfully completed, will not only enable Emerson College education abroad programs to be approved, but they will also serve as tools in the on-going management of faculty-led programs.
Faculty should begin the approval process at least 14 months prior to the first term they wish to offer their program. Otherwise, Emerson cannot guarantee that the program will be approved by the intended departure date.
