The Faculty Grants Programs (FGP) includes three distinct internal grant awards to support the research and creative scholarship of tenure-track and tenured Emerson faculty. Eligible faculty should apply for the grant program that offers the best support for their proposed project.
Faculty Project Grants
This grant will fund research and creative scholarship projects at any stage of work. Eligible applicants must provide detailed explanations of how the project enhances their overall body of work, as well as justifications for how each budget item will support projects moving toward needed expansion or completion.
Provost’s Fund for Collaborative Research
This grant will prioritize creating or sustaining interdisciplinary collaborations over the course of one academic year for two or more faculty members. These applications can include interdisciplinary partners outside of Emerson College, but funds can only be used to support the Emerson component of the work. Applicants must clarify how interdisciplinarity enhances or enables the proposed project to move forward and provide detailed budget justifications.
Advanced Research Fellowships
This grant will provide eligible faculty with one course release to support bringing projects of considerable merit and scope toward completion. Applications must include a rationale for why a course release would be more beneficial than financial support to significantly advance or complete this work. Awardees will adhere to specified timelines for completion and reporting obligations.
