The Faculty Grants Programs (FGP) includes three distinct internal grant awards to support the research and creative scholarship of tenure-track and tenured Emerson faculty. Eligible faculty should apply for the grant program that offers the best support for their proposed project.

Faculty Scholarship & Creative Practice Fund

This grant supports faculty research and creative projects at any phase of development. This funding is available for a wide range of work, including films, performances, art installations, archival research, human subjects studies, and technological innovations. The fund’s purpose is to help faculty secure the resources they need to move their projects forward..

Provost’s Fund for Collaborative Research

This grant supports interdisciplinary projects undertaken by two or more Emerson faculty members. The fund provides resources to advance joint research over a single academic year, encouraging collaborations across Emerson College. The program’s primary goals include promoting cross-departmental collaboration, enhancing the quality and impact of faculty research, and encouraging the exchange of ideas that can lead to new insights, creative solutions, and scholarly contributions. Ultimately, the fund seeks to strengthen Emerson’s research community by nurturing a culture of cooperation and intellectual collaboration across the College.

Advancing Research Fellowships

This grant supports full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members with significant scholarly or creative projects already in progress and beyond the development stage. The award provides one course release, offering eligible faculty members dedicated time needed for the research that goes into completing substantial works that make significant contributions to their fields.
