The goal of the Emerson College Eco Corps program is to advance campus sustainability through peer to peer learning, advocacy, and program development. The Eco Corps is comprised of three groups:

  1. Eco Ambassadors: paid student employees who work for an entire calendar year with the Campus Sustainability Manager
  2. Eco Reps: student volunteers who lead peer education projects or organize sustainability events
  3. Green Team: Staff teams that set sustainability goals for their building and/or office\

Eco Ambassadors

Eco Ambassadors are responsible for peer education and campus projects that bring Emerson closer to our sustainability goals. Each Eco Ambassador leads their own project and works with the Campus Sustainability Manager to advance existing projects. If time allows, all Eco Ambassadors also work together on one collaborative project or event over the course of the year.

Eco Ambassadors are hired at the start of the fall semester for the entire academic year. Follow the Sustainable Emerson blog for application information or email sustainability [at] emerson.edutitle="Email Sustainability" to express interest.

Eco Reps

Volunteer Eco Reps contribute to the College’s sustainability goals through peer education within the context of a residence hall, extracurricular activity, or another group/department on campus. Each Eco Rep pursues their own project and/or plans an event to advance sustainability on campus. Eco Reps can also partner with each other to increase the reach of their efforts.

Eco Reps can sign up at any time but ideally will be able to commit to an entire academic year. Interested students should follow the Sustainable Emerson blog for sign-up information or email sustainability [at] emerson.edutitle="Email Sustainability" to express interest.

Green Teams

Volunteer staff Green Teams contribute to the College’s sustainability goals through peer education within their office, building, or department. Green Teams are expected to run sustainability events in their offices and make progress towards one concrete sustainability goal each year through peer education.

Green Teams can be started at any time and do not dissolve at the end of the academic year. Interested staff should contact sustainability [at] emerson.edutitle="Email Sustainability" to learn more and get started.
