Temporary Parking
Please park in the public parking lot on the ground floor of the Emerson Los Angeles Building (please enter the first driveway on the left/east side of the street when turning onto Gordon Street from Sunset Boulevard. Ground Floor parking gate is open Monday-Thursday from 6 a.m.-11 p.m. and on Friday-Sunday 6 a.m.-9 p.m. If your guest needs to leave the garage outside of those hours, notify security to unlock and lift the gate.
Check In
Once you arrive at Emerson, please take the elevator or stairs to the main lobby on the 2nd floor and check in with the Front Desk Staff. Security will sign you in and check out a key to your assigned apartment.
Check Out
All keys (apartment, copy room, office) should be returned to the security desk upon moving out of the building.
Move-In Carts
Carts are available for use. If you would like to reserve a cart, please contact the undergraduate department coordinator at ELA with the number of carts needed and your move-in date. Carts will be available for pick up in the lobby.
Long-Term Parking
If you plan to have a car during your stay, please notify us to receive a parking space assignment. You will need to provide the vehicle information, make/model/license plate. The underground parking entrance is located at the rear of the building off Gordon Street (second driveway). To enter the underground parking garage and access the gate, you must have your Emerson ID and there is no call button.
Rental Car
Emerson has a contracted rate with Enterprise Rental Car. To receive the discount be sure to select “Direct Billing” when visiting the Enterprise website.
Visitors
All guests must sign in with security each time they enter the building. Overnight guest parking: Guest parking is available in the Ground Floor level of the building. You must inform security of your guest’s name, vehicle make and model and number of days staying.
Copy Machine
A copier is available for use in the Academic Internship Department Monday-Friday during operating hours. There is also a copier available for use on the 4th floor (east tower) in room 472.
Laundry
A washer/dryer is located inside the apartment.
Kitchen Amenities
Kitchen’s come fully stocked with cookware and utensils.
Local Grocery Stores
- Trader Joes – 1600 North Vine between Sunset and Hollywood (11 minute walk)
- Ralphs – 7257 West Sunset Boulevard (7 minute drive)
- Gelson's – 5877 Franklin Avenue (15 minute drive)
- Pavillions – 727 North Vine Street (7 minute drive)
Trash
The trash room is located south of the elevator at the end of the hallway.
Gym
The gym is located on the 4th floor of the west tower Open seven days a week from 6 a.m.-12 a.m. As a courtesy to the students please avoid using the gym during heavy populated hours.

Security is accessible 24 hours a day at 323-952-6211. Feel free to contact security with any questions regarding security concerns, parking, providing access to the building for guests, etc.
