Carol Parker, the Assistant Vice President for Faculty Affairs, is a member of the senior leadership team in Academic Affairs, working with the Chief Academic Officer on strategic initiatives to support all faculty, and overseeing the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning and the Office of Research and Creative Scholarship.
The AVP works with Deans and Department Chairs to support and promote faculty development, address personnel concerns, and coordinate inclusive excellence efforts, and her responsibilities include implementing academic policies and initiatives, overseeing the Writing and Academic Resource Center, developing and overseeing the neXus faculty mentoring program and the Department Chairs mentoring program, organizing tenure and promotion workshops and serving as a resource for reviews, tenure, and promotion, coordinating faculty searches and orientation for new faculty members, staffing the Academic Cabinet, overseeing Academic Affairs web page content, and managing special projects.
