Emerson College Alumni Association Board of Directors Nomination

As the governing board of the Emerson College Alumni Association, the Emerson College Alumni Board of Directors (Alumni Board), seeks candidates who are proven leaders, have demonstrated commitment to Emerson and the College's alumni population, and are committed to serving as Emerson ambassadors in their communities and the alumni community-at-large. 

Responsibilities

The Alumni Association fosters and maintains the spirit and devotion of the Alumni in an effort to promote the growth and reputation of the College as a leader in communication and the arts. The Association is an organization for Alumni to serve as partners in planning for the future of the institution, in guiding its direction, and working to increase its resources.

  • This is a working board. Among other responsibilities, members are expected to:
    • Attend two 2-day annual board retreats at their own expense (typically held in Boston or Los Angeles)
    • Actively serve on a board committee that meets monthly (Professional Development, Giving, Member Engagement, Leadership and Nominating)
    • Make an annual Leadership level financial contribution to Emerson College

Desirable Board Member Attributes

Directors should bring a breadth of experiences and points of view.  The Alumni Board seeks diversity among its board members, including by region, profession, gender, age, orientation, graduation year, major, ethnicity, culture, and type of degree earned. 

Deadlines

For consideration during the 2022 nomination period, nominations are due by April 30, 2022. We welcome nominations at any time during the year for future consideration.
