Divya Menon is currently writing her dissertation on melancholia as a philosophical category through a study of nineteenth-century literature. She is a doctoral candidate in Comparative Literature at Stony Brook University. Her research areas include modern and modernist literature, aesthetic philosophy, and visual culture. She has taught courses on classical mythology, death and the afterlife, sexuality in literature, and postcolonialism. She is teaching a course on Making Monsters this Fall.
