Divya Menon recently received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Stony Brook University. Her research areas include nineteenth-century literature and aesthetic philosophy. Her current book project studies melancholia as a literary response to modernity, focusing on works by Friedrich Hölderlin, Gérard de Nerval, and Gustave Flaubert.
