Jonathan Kitt is an Assistant Professor of Scene Study and Acting in the Department of Performing Arts. He has held positions at Clark Atlanta University and the University of West Georgia. Professor Kitt is an actor and director whose career spans over thirty years. He has been recognized by The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Region IV for excellence in directing and is a two-time Audelco Award nominee for Best Actor.
Professor Kitt's unique approach to performance integrates the Black Acting Aesthetic and the Drama of Being with the Stanislavski System, offering a comprehensive understanding to theatrical techniques and cultivating the practice and appreciation of acting with diverse communities. He aims to inspire and mentor aspiring performers by fostering connection between life, and art while also cultivating artistic integrity and professional rigor.
