Kate Perillo is a literary and cultural studies scholar who holds degrees in English, Education, and Visual Arts. Her area of expertise is global Anglophone studies with emphasis on the Caribbean, speculative fiction, and the politics of futurity. Her work appears in journals such as Small Axe, Parergon, and Modern Fiction Studies. She has also received the Northeast Modern Language Association’s Caribbean Studies Essay Prize (2017) and Postcolonial Studies Essay Prize (2019) as well as UMass-Amherst’s LeeAnne Smith White Prize in American Studies (2017).
