As Director of Annual Giving at Emerson College, Martina Beccari (she/her) leads a dynamic team responsible for building and sustaining philanthropic support within the institution's community. She is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure annual gifts from alumni, parents, friends, faculty, and staff. Her primary goal is to maximize participation and unrestricted giving, which provides vital flexible funds for the College's immediate needs. This includes developing and executing annual giving campaigns through various channels like direct mail, email appeals, and digital solicitations, always with an eye on optimizing results and efficiency.
Beyond campaign execution, as Director of Annual Giving, Martina also takes on a leadership and strategic planning role. She manages and mentors a team of annual giving professionals, oversees the departmental budget, and cultivates and stewards relationships with a broad base of donors. Furthermore, she is responsible for analyzing fundraising data, preparing reports, and collaborating closely with other development departments and College stakeholders to ensure all fundraising efforts are aligned and effective.
Before her current role, Martina dedicated nearly seven years to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, advancing through various roles in Annual Programs, culminating as Assistant Director of Annual Programs. Here, she was instrumental in managing multi-million dollar fundraising goals, cultivating donor and volunteer relationships, and orchestrating large-scale events and strategic projects like a significant museum-wide membership recast.
Martina holds an M.A. in Art Administration from Università Ca’ Foscari of Venice, and a B.A. in Art History from Università degli Studi di Pavia in Italy. A collaborative leader, Martina is committed to building strong philanthropic communities and empowering individuals to make a positive societal impact through culture and education.
