Robert supports the Office of the Arts at Emerson College as Company Manager for OA, ArtsEmerson, and HowlRound—a role in which he gets to live out his dream of supporting artists to do their best work.

At Emerson, Robert also serves as Project Manager for the 2023 Black & Indigenous Initiative, a unique, grant-funded project in OA bringing together leaders, artists, scholars, and activities from Black and Indigenous communities around the United States.

Robert joined Emerson after more than a decade of work in education and nonprofit leadership. Prior to returning to the Boston area in the fall of 2022, Robert was Director of Tuition Assistance Programming & Associate Director of College Counseling at Marin Academy in northern California, where he supported low-income and families of color by offering college counseling, coordinating financial aid events, and stewarding the MA college counseling financial aid budget. He also served as Advisor to the Executive Director at the Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools, a professional development organization for school counselors from around the world.

Although Robert is new to professional theater, he has performed in musicals, acapella shows, regional choir, and even a Latin jazz band, throughout high school and college. He earned his B.A. from Earlham College with a degree in both Spanish and Human Development & Social Relations, and his M.Ed. from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) in Higher Education Policy.

If you want to discuss life beyond work—Robert loves spending time with family, talking music and film, and running. In fact, he and his partner Zoe are taking on their first multi-sport race at the Boston Triathlon. They welcome any tips and wisdom from the community!
