Roy Wilson has worked in and taught film production since 1980. He has worked on national and local commercial spots, documentaries, independent shorts, and music videos. Though he has assumed various roles in the industry from producer to editor, his primary work has been as a gaffer and cinematographer. The constant throughout his career has been his fascination with how images can be crafted to create powerful moments.  Roy holds both a BFA in Film Production and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Prior to joining Emerson Roy taught at a number of institutions, including NYU, School of Visual Arts, and Rutgers University, as well as at numerous independent media art centers and collectives including Northwest Film Forum, Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center, and Paper Tiger TV.
