Tim Sullivan is currently the Production Manager for the Performing Arts Department at Emerson College. Prior to Emerson, Tim has held a variety of positions across the industry, ranging from non-profit producing and charitable organizations, to commercial endeavors and educational institutions.
Tim has most recently held Production Manager and Producer positions at organizations such as Ogunquit Playhouse, Intiman Theatre, Brown University/Trinity Repertory Company, the Mint Theater Company, and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Throughout Tim’s career, he’s had the opportunity to work with organizations such as Mabou Mines, American Repertory Theatre, the Public, and the WPA. Artists of note that Tim has collaborated with include Laurie Anderson, Ruth Maleczech, Jerry Mitchell, Chita Rivera, Rinde Eckert, Alan Cumming, Bebe Neuwirth, Naomi Lizuka, Lynn Nottage, Charles Busch, Kate Whoriskey, Andrei Serban, Robert Bruestein, and Slava Dolgachev. He has worked on production teams for several Broadway shows and national tours, and is the Production Stage Manager for Charles Busch’s annual off-Broadway production of Times Square Angel.
Tim has significant pedagogical experience at some of the country’s most esteemed higher education institutions. At Brown University, Tim founded and led the production department for nationally recognized Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Program. As an Educator, Tim has also taught at Bridgewater State University, and Harvard University’s Institute for Advanced Theatre Training. Throughout his career, Tim has particularly valued educating the next generation of theater educators and practitioners, leading countless courses and seminars at various high schools and colleges throughout the United States.
Tim has served on the Board of Directors for the New England Theatre Conference, and is an AEA member. He is an active member of the Production Manager’s Forum, and an avid supporter of the United States Institute for Theater Technology. Tim is a proud graduate of Marymount Manhattan College.
