Costume Catwalk

Step into the spotlight this Halloween as INDEX presents the Costume Catwalk at The Emerson Phantasmagorium. We’re calling on all creatures of the night, icons of illusion, and masters of disguise to show off their most creative, creepy, comedic, or couture looks down our runway. Come strut, pose, and HAUNT the audience with your devilishly impressive looks.

Makeup and hair artists will be on-site to help you complete your transformation, and a professional photo booth will capture your runway-ready look in all its ghostly glory. Prizes will be awarded for standout costumes in each category—so come ready to impress. Fashion meets fright right here on campus and you definitely don't want to be left in the dark...

About INDEX

Founded in 2007, Emerson Fashion Society (EFS) is an organization dedicated to uplifting marginalized voices that have been drowned out or ignored. Founded in 2018, INDEX Magazine was launched by EFS to showcase our unique and diverse voices through a fashion magazine. This magazine is more than a few pieces of paper bound together. It’s a statement. It’s a statement that our voices will be heard and celebrated. The magazine and this organization are home to talented individuals who express themselves through words, art, photography, and, in particular, fashion. Exclusion and isolation run deep within these school halls, but not here. This organization is for everyone. We can’t learn and grow for each other without coalescing and celebrating our differences. We embrace change. We listen to each other. We see each other. We collaborate. This semester’s theme is Homage. So let's pay homage to what’s important to us.

Brianne Simone is a fantasy writer with a love of folklore and mythology. She is currently working on a master’s degree at Emerson College, and her novella Colin’s Ward has been accepted into an upcoming anthology. Lucia Kelemen is a sophomore SOF concentrating on screenwriting and story crafting. She loves all things gory, horrific, and unnerving. She took a break from working on EIV sets, and on her original play, to bring you this Junji Ito–inspired short story.

Olivia Chen is a first-year student from Connecticut and a current WLP major. Some of her favorite poems include Sylvia Plath's “mad girl’s love song” and Seamus Heaney’s “blackberry-picking.” She will be presenting “I go to your house for signs of life.”
