In alignment with the recommendations by the state of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and other medical professionals, as of Monday, May 16, 2022, the College has shifted to a “mask optional” policy for vaccinated and boosted individuals for all indoor campus spaces, EXCEPT the Center for Health and Wellness and Emerson Counseling and Psychological Services. (Masks will be provided in these areas for those who need them.)
Anyone who wishes to wear a mask should feel free to do so in any setting. It is important to respect the individual choices our community members make regarding personal health decisions. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 cases in our community, as well as trends within the region, and should it be necessary, we may return to mandatory masking at any point.
Emerson guests are allowed in all campus spaces. Guests entering the residence halls must be pre-registered in StarRez. Guests entering non-residence hall spaces must be pre-registered in iVistor. By registering a guest, the host is attesting that the visitor/guest is vaccinated. The College no longer requires a negative test result prior to visiting.
Spectators and patrons from outside the community are welcome at campus sporting events, performances, screenings, exhibitions, campus tours and open houses, and lectures open to the general public. Visitors must adhere to all College policies.
Any spaces that have been operating at reduced capacity from their original/intended operations will return to full capacity beginning May 16, 2022.
