Credit Overload Policy
- Undergraduate students wishing to take more than 16 credits during a semester must have a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher to be approved to overload.
- Graduate students wishing to take more than 14 credits must submit a General Petition to Graduate Studies.
- Undergraduate students taking classes in Los Angeles may not overload beyond 17 credits during the ELA semester.
- Undergraduates may not take more than 4 overload credits a semester.
- First-semester undergraduates, both freshmen and transfers, may not overload, with the exception of voice, dance, and non-tuition courses.
- Overloaded undergraduate courses are billed on a per-credit basis.
