Prorated tuition credit adjustments are made to students who file a written withdrawal or leave of absence form at the Office of Student Success prior to the end of the fifth week of a given term.
Dates are determined by the Boston campus schedule.
Prorated room and board credit adjustments are made to students who file a written withdrawal or leave of absence form at the Office of Student Success prior to the end of the fifth week of a given term.
Room and board credit adjustments to students who have officially withdrawn or taken a leave of absence are as follows:
- When the leave or withdrawal is filed and the student vacates their room: prior to the end of the first two weeks, of classes 80 percent refund of room; prior to the end of the third week, 60 percent refund of room; prior to the end of the fourth week, 40 percent refund of room; prior to the fifth week, 20 percent refund of room; after the fifth week, NO REFUND IS MADE.
- Up to the end of the fifth week of classes, prorate balance of meal plan, using the effective date of withdrawal. There are no meal plan pro-rations after the fifth week of classes.
Tuition or fee payments will not be refunded, in whole or in part, for any reason, unless students meet the conditions for a refund specified in this policy. Except as noted below, tuition refunds are made only to Students who have officially filed for a leave of absence or withdrawal from the College as follows for regular, full-term courses.
- During the first two weeks of classes: 80% refund of tuition
- During the third week: 60% refund of tuition
- During the fourth week: 40% refund of tuition
- During the fifth week: 20% refund of tuition
For seven-week terms, tuition refunds are made only to Students who have officially filed for a leave of absence or withdrawal from the College as follows:
- Before the first day of classes: 100% refund
- Before the second day of classes: 75% refund
- Before the third day of classes: 50% refund
- Starting the third day of classes, there is no refund for the seven-week term.
Students who withdraw after having received Title IV financial assistance might have to repay a portion of that assistance. If a student’s award package includes any federal funds and the withdrawal occurs in the first 60 percent of the payment period, federal regulations require that a portion of the student’s federal aid be returned to the aid programs. The portion of the aid to be returned is determined by a refund calculation based on the number of days remaining in the period.
Student tuition and/or room and board refunds will be processed by Student Financial Services upon receipt of a completed leave of abscence or withdrawal form.
No tuition or room and board refunds or credits are made when withdrawal of a student is required by the College authorities from classes or on-campus housing or when a student withdraws from an individual course.
Students seeking an exception to the College’s refund schedule should petition the Office of Student Success. The petition must be accompanied by substantive supporting evidence to be considered.
