About the Undergraduate Social Impact Design Minor
Social Impact Design is an interdisciplinary minor offered by the Engagement Lab, where students apply skills learned in the arts and communication to tackle critical social justice issues. Through collaborations with community partners, undergraduate students will develop experiential learning projects that integrate research and practice to create social impact. These real-world experiences provide students with the opportunity to synthesize and apply different modes of academic inquiry, intellectual perspectives, and problem-solving techniques to have a positive impact in our communities.
The minor is open to all majors across the College. Students must have at least sophomore standing.
For the Social Impact Design minor, four courses (16 credits) are required, including the core course, SI 200 Co-Design Studio. The remaining 12 credits are fulfilled by completing three different SI 300 Social Impact Studios courses.
