Note: Professional, Administrative, Special, and other leaves do not follow an established timeline and are considered at the time of application.

* If deadline dates fall on a weekend or holiday, the deadline will be the next business day.

Sabbatical Leaves

September 15, 2021 Sabbatical leave applications for 2022–23 are due to the DPTCs.
October 1 Sabbatical leave reports are due to the Chairs (or Institute Director of Faculty Development), Deans, and the Office of Academic Affairs for Spring 2021 sabbatical leaves.
October 15 The DPTCs give their recommendations to the Chairs (or Institute Director of Faculty Development).
November 1 The Chairs (or Institute Director of Faculty Development) give their recommendations to the Deans.
November 15 The Deans give their recommendations to the Provost.
Before December Board of Trustees Meeting** The Provost gives recommendations to the President and application materials to Academic and Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees.
December** The Board of Trustees vote on applications.
February 15, 2022 Sabbatical leave reports are due to the Chairs (or Institute Director of Faculty Development), Deans and Office of Academic Affairs for Fall 2021 sabbatical leaves.

May 3, 2021 By May 3, the faculty member notifies the Department Chair (or Institute Director of Faculty Development) and the Dean in writing of intent to apply in the coming Fall 2021 semester for a Pre-Tenure Leave in 2022–23.
October 8 Pre-tenure leave reports due to Chair (or Institute Director of Faculty Development), Dean, and Office of Academic Affairs for Spring 2021 Pre-Tenure leaves.
November 15 Pre-tenure leave applications due to Chairs (or Institute Director of Faculty Development).
December 15 Chairs' (or Institute Director of Faculty Development’s) recommendations to Deans.
February 1, 2022 Deans' recommendations to the Provost.
February 15 Pre-tenure leave reports due to Chair (or Institute Director of Faculty Development), Dean, and Office of Academic Affairs for Fall 2021 Pre-tenure leaves.
March 15 The Provost forwards a written recommendation to the faculty member, the Chair and the Dean.
